A Wharncliffe customer since the mid 90’s, Create City Ltd t/a Maguires Carpets have always been leaders when it comes to exploiting technology for streamlining their business operations and is the latest site to go-live on Realitex200, the UK’s leading system for fast moving carpets and flooring businesses.
Their Shildon warehouse stocks over 20,000 carpet rolls, comprehensive ranges of engineered hardwoods, laminates and artificial grass as well as accessories to provide next day service to its 30 highly successful retail outlets through ‘Frank’s The Flooring Store’ so switchover timing was critical for the business.
The Maguires Carpets team, led by FD David Stubbs worked with Realitex200 consultants Paul Priestley and Alison Lockwood to set up a program of planning and testing covering Maguires operations in finance, retail, warehousing and distribution before arranging a mutually convenient date for the switchover. The old system was closed off and the data transfer was initiated remotely. At 07.00 the following day, Maguires Carpets were live on their new Realitex200 system.
David was full of praise for the Wharncliffe team. “Finance and order processing was beautifully controlled and the switchover went exceptionally smoothly. We had a couple of initial hiccups with our integrated cutting machines, but these were quickly sorted so everybody here is very, very pleased with the new system,” he explains. And why not? In Maguire’s finance department, David and Julie both agree that “Sage 200 Financials is far superior” and that “it’s a lot more productive with regards to the information it produces in a fraction of the time.”
In addition to better financials and more efficient general processing, Maguires are also using Panintelligence BI. Importantly, the charts and reports it generates have been specifically designed and developed to improve performance and the ‘bottom line.’ Consequently, all Maguire’s business critical reports are now available in real time over the internet using Panintelligence.
8 weeks into live operation, David Stubbs delivers further recommendation. “We received tremendous support from Paul and Alison preparing the switchover in the background and then again on-site. Month end was the quickest and easiest we’ve ever done and Realitex200 is now running like clockwork” he concludes.

However, Sage 200 will automate and streamline all key business areas such as order processing, stock management and direct debit payment processing.
Importantly, Sage 200 CRM will also provide the platform to support further business growth for Challenger’s Licensed Business Partners who will be using a proven and successful business model. This will provide the platform to record communications against business opportunities as well as handling customer services, sales and marketing activities.
