Maguire's Carpets Invest In Realitex

To support their growing carpet distribution business Maguire's Carpets are to install new Realitex hardware, software and services from Wharncliffe Business Systems.
The deal will see 2 new high performance IBM servers being installed at their 100,000 square foot distribution facility in Shildon, Co Durham along with the all new Realitex-G user interface.
Maguire's have seen their business grow exponentially since their first Realitex system was installed in 1998 and their first major Realitex upgrade saw the successful installation of RF paperless warehousing with an integrated 5m cutting table when the business expanded to the Shildon site.
Since then, the business has continued to prosper through efficient carpet cut and roll stock management backed up with a highly efficient delivery service, resulting in a record 2007 for the business.
Maguire's have also recently taken up the green initiative by offering e-mailed invoices and statements to all customers and are backing this up with the introduction of Realitex’s unique document archiving system. Finance Director, David Stubbs is confident that paper usage within the business will be reduced by up to 90% with a pro rata reduction in stationery and postage costs - "Not only do we see our reduction in paper us as a substantial benefit to the environment, it's also much more efficient for us, our staff and our customers to generate electronic documents," he said. To further reduce paper, Maguire's have also invested in Realitex Business Automation and Cognos PowerPlay Business Intelligence so that accurate information on stock and sales can be delivered as and when required.
Wharncliffe's Steve Griffin has been account manager at Maguires for the past 12 months and is impressed with the ethos at Maguire's. "Maguire's fully appreciate that IT can be exploited to retain their competitive edge and their investment in our products and services backs this up."
Maguire's Managing Director, Jason Maguire is keen to use IT to take the business to the next level.
