Wharncliffe delivers a broad spread of improvements for Spectrum Safety Spectrum Safety is a growing business and their business software requirements are evolving. They've already grown out of Sage 50 – it simply hadn't been able to keep up. So Sage put them in touch with Barnsley based IT specialists Wharncliffe, who helped them make the upgrade to Sage 200 Suite with Financials, Commercials, CRM and Shopfront 200 (e-commerce solution). This meant the company experienced no more crashes, data losses or recovery issues. Sage 200 Suite keeps track with Spectrum's requirements and is now supporting their continuing growth.

Founded in 1997, Spectrum Safety began by supplying oils and lubricants to industry. As they've grown, so their customer base has sought an even wider range of safety products. Underpinning Spectrum Safety's service is a requirement for meticulous sales order processes and stock management systems but Spectrum Safety had effectively grown out of Sage 50's capability.

Wharncliffe Director, Alan Exley, sums up the situation: "The Spectrum Safety team was finding it difficult to get anything done. Their requirements were so far ahead of Sage 50 – they were just pushing it too hard. Vital man hours were being lost every time the system went down, and there was no facility in place for proactive customer relationship management."

The implementation process that Wharncliffe uses ensures that clients like Spectrum are subjected to rigorous business reviews. This way Wharncliffe can ensure that they have full understanding of the organisation's IT requirements and wider business model in accordance with their suitability analysis. Throughout the Sales and Implementation process Wharncliffe are in constant communication with the client. This may be demonstrating the product, converting the data to the new system or training the users on the new package.

The upgrade was eased by ongoing and unstinting support from the Wharncliffe team. Simon Oldacre, Spectrum Safety's Managing Director states "We'd lived with all these issues for five years; within a few weeks, everything was working smoothly."

Spectrum have also been pleased with the way that Wharncliffe continues to support the business. Simon describes how the ticket system works; "it's great to know that you can log a ticket on the Wharncliffe system and within an hour you will have received a call back letting you know that you are being supported."

At a time when efficiency of operation is more important than ever, Sage 200 Suite helps Spectrum Safety operate an improved service, whilst actually reducing administration man hours. Simon Oldacre again: "Sage 200 Suite gives us incredible stability and speed. Even the back-end processes are better. Wharncliffe take care of everything – we don't have to worry about a thing."
